Day 8 - Blenheim Palace - found Indy's heritage!

Today we visited Blenheim Palace - which is the birthplace and childhood home
of Winston Churchill.

"Cavaliers which have rich chestnut markings on  a pearly white background
are know as Blenheim in honor of Blenheim Palace, where John Churchill, 1st Duke
of Marlborough, raised the predecessors to the Cavalier breed in this color.
In some dogs there is a chestnut spot in the middle of the forehead which is called
the Blenheim "spot."

This spot is also known as the "Duchess thumb print" based on the legend
that Sara Churchill, waiting her husband's safe return from the battle of Blenheim,
pressed the head of an expecting dam
with her thumb, resulting in five puppies bearing the lucky mark after news that the battle
had been won."

Guess Indy's spot isn't a pause button after all.

This American heiress above was forced into marriage by her mother to
a rich Churchill,
and then given this gilded cradle below as a wedding gift
as a major hint to her daughter! haha

Don't worry kids - I won't give any of you a
cradle as a wedding gift.

Best room in the palace - the LIBRARY!!

And what is a visit to Europe without nude statues???
