This day was a special one for me (the Chester Beatty Library collection) and for
Danny as well (Jameson Irish Whiskey!)
We started off walking around town and went to the Chester Beatty Library.
It housed the donated, private collection of a man who spent his fortune gathering historical documents from around the world.
He had scraps of pages from the ORIGINAL writing of the four gospels - and so much
more - but this in particular meant so much.
This collection has the oldest surviving copy of the four gospels, large
portions of Paul's letters, and parts of the Book of Revelation.
They were all written on papyrus.
You just can't take in what you are seeing!
Christchurch, Dublin
(which we just passed by on our walk to Jameson. Priorities.)

JAMESON IRISH WHISKEY TOUR
Does this bartender look Irish or what???
We had an awesome tour guide (named Hannah - Hannah with a haitch)
and at the end she tasted all the whiskeys with us.
Wonder how many tours she gives in a day???
Danny found a drink he loved (an old fashioned with orange and chocolate)
and may or may not have had a few too many...
We ended up being there far longer than we should have,
and so we left and got a cab.
Our cab driver was the most original, Irish, "full of blarney" cabby you could imagine!
We laughed so hard the entire ride,
his jokes were coarse and his manner was friendly,
and we asked him to just take us anywhere he wanted to
for dinner. We specified "non-touristy" and that was it.
He ended up dropping us off at the best pub we have ever been to!
We truly felt like we were in Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley.
It was small, loud, jam packed with stuff,
full of character, and lots of drunk, loud locals.
We loved it.

Best Irish stew we ever tasted

We are going to try and go back here on the last day of our trip - when we
get back to Dublin to fly home.
