Jacob's Match at the Naval Academy

The Day:  March 23, 2013
The Place:  Naval Academy, Annapolis MD
The Event:  NRA Shooting Match
The Outcome:  Jacob's Personal Best Score Ever!!!

Jacob setting up to shoot in standing position.  The Academy shooting range was absolutely
 state-of-the-art.

The electronic scoring was brilliant.  Jacob loved it.  Here he is shooting prone position.

Look at this awesome form!!  (I am talking about the above picture - not below!!)

Jacob and I walked around the Academy a little bit - what a beautiful campus this is.

In the middle of the morning I got a call from my brother John saying that he was going to be in Annapolis the very same day! What a beautiful coincidence!!  We met for lunch at Middleton Tavern - it was just another thing that made this day so special.

Jacob with his cousin Rachel and her friend, who were here to play hockey.  So, Jacob had his best day of shooting ever and then had lunch with two beautiful girls.  I'd say he had a pretty darn good day.

Maple Syrup Time

Here are some shots of this seasons sap gathering and syrup boiling.  We had a record year and ended up with 143 gallons of sap, which then boiled down to over 4 gallons of delicious, golden syrup!

Jacob and Indy keeping Dad company out at the fire pit...

Still using the stove that grandpa put together for us.  Still works great.

Look at all this beautiful, golden, fragrant maple syrup.  Yum.
