This was Hannah's second summer of serving at Summer Celebration, a camp for kids aged 6-10. What an absolute blast she had! At first she was disappointed about it because Jacob couldn't go with her this year (he had a shooting camp - next post!) but she was a trooper and went anyway. She was up bright and early at 6:30am and had to be there by 7:30 for donuts and instruction. Since she was a head coach this year, she had a lot more responsibility. She had the "clipboard"!!! haha She had a team of eight year old girls who adored her, and whom she adored in return. By the end of the week she felt really close to all of them.
On the last day, they all clamored to get Hannah to sign their shirts...
Look at my beautiful girl, hair swept up in a casual bun, serving the Lord with all her heart, loving these children...
Hannah really loved her girls, and so the day before the last day we went shopping for a special treat she could give to all of them. They were excited as she gave them all a pack of glow stick bracelets.
This is Amy, the girl who was Hannah's helper all week. She was a great assistant coach, and Hannah really enjoyed getting to know her. What a sweetie. And I have to say that I really think Hannah is meant to do something with kids. She really loves to work with kids, and she seems to have a gift for it. I never thought she would say this, but she was really sad when the week was over...
So proud of you Hannah! You beautiful, sweet thing you!!!
