Days of joy and days of sadness

Ed and Sue and Rebecca visited Grandma and Grandpa last week - and
they cooked some delicious meals that were still
on the special diet plan that Grandpa is following.

After weeks of utter misery,  eating the simplest foods and
choking down 100 pills a day,
it is very nice to see a happy Grandpa enjoying a meal!

Ed was happy to report that Grandpa even gained back a few pounds.
Yay!!!

I would say he has a healthy glow!

We all know this is a difficult season for Grandma and Grandpa,
but there is still moments to find joy and laughter!
Their days may look different,
but they just need to find a "new normal" daily routine.
Find something else that they can do to make the most of every day.

We also know the end of the story - and guess what?
It all turns out good!!

And we hope they know they are not walking through this alone.
They are greatly loved.
And supported.
And carried.
The very definition of family.

No matter the offenses and struggles and relational issues in the past,
we come together and love each other in days like this.

I would say that my parents are wealthy beyond measure.

"God didn't promise days without pain,
laughter without sorrow,
nor sun without rain,
but he did promise
STRENGTH
for the day,
COMFORT
for the tears,
&
LIGHT FOR THE WAY"

Plus, with all that grandpa is doing to possibly overcome this
lung disease, we don't know that one of them may work.
It might be a supplement,
or a treatment,
or a diet...
God is still a God of miracles and wonder.

And just for a little glimpse of joy!
