Annapolis. The rest of the story.

 Day one.

We arrived at the Maryland Inn just before dark and checked in to our beautiful room.  (pictures on previous post).  Since it was so bitterly cold outside we decided to walk to something rather close and ended up at Rams Head Tavern.  Loved it.

Day Two.

We had gotten a recommendation for Chick and Ruth's Delly from someone who worked at the hotel, and I have to say that it was such a fun experience and had the BEST crab benedict I have ever had!  Their crab cakes truly are amazing!!

After breakfast we spent the day walking around and visiting shops, galleries, coffee shops and St. Ann's Catholic church.  Gorgeous.  Annapolis has truly stolen my heart.  I love the history and the friendly people.

We even found a painting we fell in love with!  Shows the Annapolis harbor in the morning light.

We ate dinner at the Treaty of Paris, a restaurant in the same building as our hotel.  What an experience this was too!  Some of the best food ever tasted, and the most romantic atmosphere we ever had!  We were the only patrons in the restaurant for almost the entire meal, and we sat by the fireplace and enjoyed great, relaxing service.

Here is the rest of the restaurant.  Glad we made reservations! haha

Crab bisque. Mmmmmm......

We even splurged on a dessert.  Something we RARELY do.  But we were so enjoying just sitting alone in a restaurant by the fire, that we wanted to make it last as long as possible.  We had many cups of coffee, and lingered...

Day Three.

The view out our bedroom window when we woke up.  Dreary and rainy.

Back to the restaurant for breakfast.  Same restaurant. Same waiter.  Same table.  Same fire burning in the fireplace.  And it was still empty!  So, once again, we enjoyed our private, romantic breakfast with amazing food and atmosphere.

We headed down to the Starbucks in the basement and found the world's best kept secret.  Tucked away in this basement is the most quaint, unique Starbucks ever! Great way to end our little trip.

And to my husband:  you are the most amazingly kind and thoughtful and wonderful man.  You are a joy to be with, and I cherish our times away.  This one was especially memorable, it was so romantic and I will never forget walking around with you, hand in hand, delighting at little treasures, or reading the history of something, or just chatting.  You are my best friend, and I love you more than you will ever know.  Let's do it again. Soon.
